PRESS RELEASE
Tuesday 29th January
RedNeedle Productions present The Tailors’
Last Stand at the Barons Court Theatre.
Directed by Harry Saks and written by Ian Buckley, the
play is inspired by Buckley’s father’s memories of life as a London Savile Row tailor, trade unionist and communist.
The play takes an affectionate look at the life of
four tailors in 2009 London.
It’s the last meeting for this intrepid band of London
Tailors. It’s a time to reminisce, to swap stories of what was and what might
have been, to take stock, and to look into the future. But it’s not going to be
any sort of tranquil wake. Fireworks can still fly and old scores wait to be settled.
Commenting on the subject matter of the play Buckley says;
‘My
play is a memory and a tribute to those men my father crossed paths with.’
Four lovable rogues with one political ideal that
creates infinite comic mayhem.
The Tailors’ Last Stand is at the Barons Court Theatre 19th
